DANCING TO THE WORLD
DANCING TO SELF-CONFIDENCE
DANCING TO MAKE NEW FRIENDS

WE BRING SOCIAL DANCES TO SCHOOLS AND THUS WE OFFER MORE OPPORTUNITIES IN LIFE TO YOUNG GENERATIONS

SOCIAL DANCES vs. BALLROOM DANCES

Ballroom dances and social dances are translated into Czech as social dances, While ballroom dances are competitive sport dances, such as waltz, jive, etc. which are more or less based on choreography, so that each dancer knows in advance what will be danced, social dances are dances such as salsa, bachata, kizomba, swing, zouk, Argentine tango and they are global dances that are part of everyday life around the world. They are danced at home, in a bar, on the street, in a club and at festivals. A person learns the language of dance - the more words he knows, the more he can use and combine them. The partner never knows what is coming, so she can perceive the present moment and the direction and follow her partner.

News

From mid-February to mid-March 2024, we taught 4 bachata lessons at Professor Jan Patočka's Gymnasium. At the end of the 4th lesson, we distributed questionnaires to the students because we were interested in how they liked our lessons and if they had an effect on the relationships in the class. I would like to share some answers with you.

For the question about overall satisfaction with the lessons, with the following options: excellent - good - average - below average, 26 students answered: 16 excellent, 10 good.

In their own words, the students evaluated the lesson subsequently: Interesting for them was:

- dance style

- everyone could dance with everyone

- fun approach

- music selection

- pleasant lecturers

- a light dance that everyone could master

- a dance that can be useful in life

For us, the most important question was whether our lessons had an effect on classroom relationships. Students answered in turn, with some answers being repeated:

- we have become closer, we are finally having fun as a whole class and not just as groups

- the atmosphere among classmates has relaxed

- I started talking more with someone

- I got to know the boys better

- I got to know my classmates better and learned new things about them

- it deepened relations, there is greater openness between us

- it had a great effect, I talk to people I didn't talk to before

Why social dances?

01

Movement that liberates

In modern times, many of us forget the joy of dancing. Many think that dancing is only for the chosen ones. But what if dance is the natural expression of each of us? What if dance is a way to discover joy and freedom in movement?

Social dances are not only about dancing, but also about connecting. Meeting people from different corners of the world, discovering new cultures and creating lasting relationships. Each new dance partner can be the key to new opportunities and adventures.
